‘A test for my riding style’ – Torres on Aragon
Spanish rider prepares for first home WorldSBK round.
MotorLand Aragon this weekend becomes the first Spanish circuit on which Jordi Torres will compete since making his debut in the eni FIM Superbike World Championship. Incidentally, a track he knows very well on Moto2 machinery…
“I’m happy that the first European round of the season will take place in front of my home crowd,” says the Aprilia Racing Team – Red Devils rider. “I know the Aragon circuit well but, at the same time, I need to be quick at learning how to be fast there on a Superbike, as the braking marks will be quite different.
“It’s a very important weekend for me because the track’s characteristics can allow me to make a further step forward in terms of riding style; it is a long and complex track with some tight corners, wider turns and many changes of direction. I think a good job here can help sorting many things out for the rest of the season. Right now we’re at a good point but this weekend it will be a sort of test for my riding style.”
During his time in the Moto2 World Championship, Torres’ Aragon highlight was a sixth place finish from fifth on the grid in 2013.
