Team Owner expects a hardy year for Althea Racing.

Althea Racing is a team that knows what accomplishment is, having won the 2011 eni FIM Superbike World Championship title with Carlos Checa.

For 2015, the Italian outfit is running another Spanish star in Nico Terol, joined by Italian team-mate Matteo Baiocco who knows the Ducati like the back of his hand.

“It will be a very exciting season this year,” Genesio Bevilacqua, Team Owner of Althea Racing, confidently states to WorldSBK.com. “We are with Ducati again and we expect to improve on our previous performance.

“In Nico Terol (the 125cc Grand Prix World Champion of 2011), we have one of the best young motorcycle riders from Spain right now. Matteo Baiocco (a regular Ducati test rider, with 59 WorldSBK starts to his name) is very expert as well.

“The first step is to get good experience through two or three races and then we want to show our potential, which we consider quite good for this year.”

The first of this season’s 13 rounds was positive for Althea, which came out of Australia having scored 30 points across the two races: the fifth-highest amount of points of any team, behind only Kawasaki Racing Team, Aprilia Racing Team – Red Devils, Aruba.it Racing-Ducati SBK Team and Pata Honda World Superbike Team.
