Difficult Weekend For Camier

MV Agusta rider denied repeat of double points finishes in 2015

The Brit was running well in Race 1 before a problem forced an early retirement, with Sunday at MotorLand then also affected.

“To be honest this weekend ended up a disaster,” lamented Camier. “We started off really strong and even in Race 1 we thought we had the potential to be 4th to 6th, and I was catching the group for 4th to 6th, they were just in front of me when we had a problem.”

Sadly the Italian factory weren’t able to fully rectify the issues to get back in the fight in Race 2.

“On Sunday morning we didn’t get out for Warm Up because the problem continued, and then we made a big change with the engine for Race 2 and it didn’t work at all. It’s quite frustrating; we lost the potential for a good result here and we were expecting a good result here.”

A problem found, however, is a problem easier to start to work on, and the MV Agusta rider remains positive with the overall progress of the bike.

“I think it goes to show the base package, what we’ve come up with now is working quite good but we’re missing a bit of reliability and speed. You look at the data and you can see where you’re missing a lot of time, and if we could get back that time with some speed from the engine we could be really quite competitive at some circuits I think. It’s a bit frustrating but we have to take the positives from it. The guys are going away from this race with some slight modifications they want to make for Assen, and then hopefully everything sticks together and we can come good.”

Assen is the next Round of WorldSBK as the paddock heads North in Europe to the historic track, ready for another great weekend of racing.
