Great Weekend for Camier at Assen

Best ever finish and great haul of points for MV Agusta

After a difficult weekend in Aragón, MV Agusta came back at Assen with a best ever P4 finish in Race 1, followed up by another top ten on Sunday as Camier came home P9, adding another good number of points to the Italian factory’s tally.

The unpredictable Dutch weather meant Race 2 was declared wet and Camier started from 13th after narrowly missing out on getting into Tissot-Superpole 2. As the asphalt began to dry, MV Agusta Reparto Corse went for a quick pit-stop and Camier got a better feeling on the bike, then starting work on moving forward in the race and breaking into the top 10 to finish 9th.

“Really difficult conditions today,” said Camier. “At the start I felt comfortable when the track was really wet, but when it started to dry I started to lose performance; I struggled to get enough grip to keep corner speed and to accelerate. We changed to the slick tyres and that was a good decision, since I started to get in the rhythm in the dry, passing some riders. I am really happy about this and for our performance in the wet, but we need to understand the problem in the middle, when it’s still wet but starts drying.”

MV Agusta will next be back on track at their home round at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola to fight for more points, as WorldSBK heads south on the 29th of April to the legendary Italian venue.
