Carlos heads first practice
Michel Fabrizio (Ducati Xerox) posted the third best time, with Hannspree Ten Kate Honda rider Jonathan Rea fourth. Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team) was the long time leader and finished fifth.
World Championship leader Max Biaggi (Aprilia Alitalia) was ninth, Leon Haslam (Suzuki Alstare) 11th.
