Checa stays on top due to Friday time
Overnight rain determined everything in the final qualifying session, as none of the riders on display found a track surface dry enough to improve on their best Friday times on - leaving Carlos Checa from the Althea Racing Team as the pre-Superpole fastest rider.
Max Biaggi did some early laps in wet conditions today, but pulled in on his Aprilia Alitalia machine, while most other riders waited until the track had dried a little more before venturing out. Even the then the best riders were still seven seconds from their Friday best times. With a 1'54.094, Cal Crutchlow was the fasted man in today's session.
