Triumph has the bike for Scassa
"Unlike last year, now I am part of a factory team and this was my objective", declared Scassa. "There is a long-term project ahead and I aim to begin it in the best possible way. Next season I will have all the right cards to try and win the world title: the experience, the team and a quick bike".
Scassa immediately dialled into the British three-cylinder 675 in Spain, going quickest overall and lapping one tenth of a second faster than team-mate Chaz Davies, who has been on the bike for over one year.
"The indications from Aragon were very positive and the fact that I shaped up well to Chaz, who in my opinion is a very strong rider, is encouraging for the future. I've got a fantastic team, and together with Alberto ‘Moro' Colombo (Ed. former Ducati Superbike chief mechanic), who has never worked in Supersport before, we are discovering together all the potential of this bike. As for its performance, the Supersport engine has more or less half the displacement of my Superbike and you can feel this a lot out on the track. Add to that the fact that I'm not exactly a jockey in size ...".
