2017 Champion Lucas Mahias returns to WorldSSP full-time after several seasons competing in WorldSBK or as a replacement rider for the Kawasaki Puccetti Racing team. In 2024, he competed with GMT94 Yamaha at that time he had competed in 72 races going back to 2014, with nine wins and 29 podiums to his name, with WorldSBK experience from two full seasons in the Championship in 2021 and 2022. 2024 may have been a turning point for the 8-year veteran of WorldSSP, he improved to a 9th place finish after earning 19th place in 2023. He will now race with GMT94-Yamaha alongside fellow former WorldSBK rider Michael Rinaldi.
