Kawasaki World Superbike team keeps busy
Broc Parkes secured three second place finishes in the Superbike races, but the point of joining in the competition in the first place was to test in real race conditions, particularly at a circuit the Paul Bird Motorsports operated team has so much experience of on a variety of different machines.
Said Parkes of his experience, "The improvements made recently are really starting to show returns and the bike was the best it has been all year. I was able to battle with the factory Yamaha for the first time and really pushed them all weekend."
Paul Risbridger, the Team Manager, stated: "We intended this weekend to be an opportunity to test and confirm many of the recent changes to the bike and the three-race format gave us a great opportunity to try a number of new settings. We expected tough competition and knew we would need to be at the top of our game to get a result but we have to be encouraged by the way the Kawasaki performed around a very technical circuit."
Parkes' regular team-mate Makoto Tamada, still recovering from his Brno finger injury, was not at Brands, but will be back in action at the Nürburgring for the next round of WSB on September 6.
