In a New Year's message to fans on his personal website (www.max-biaggi.com), Aprilia Racing's Max Biaggi has said that he is confident that the year ahead will see his RSV4 express its true potential after an excellent debut season last year in which the Italian bike scored its first win at Brno.

"I am ready for the 2010 season which will be full of high expectations, but you can be sure that Aprilia and I will be aiming to do a championship at the highest possible level. For sure I won't be underestimating anyone, but I am also convinced of our real potential. It'll be a good season and I'm beginning the year with a good chance right from the start, seeing as we finished the second half of the 2009season at the top. The last tests at Valencia told us that we are fast and have a good race pace. At the end of January we'll be at Portimao and then we'll be in a position to understand what the coming season will be like seeing as all the official teams will be present. We'll have some new developments to test and hopefully they will be a good step forward over 2009."

The three days of Superbike and Supersport will take place from Friday 22 to Sunday 24 January at the Algarve circuit.
