Vladimir Ivanov ready for rehab
Vladimir Ivanov (DMC-Lorenzini Kawasaki) was released yesterday from the hospital he was sheltered in Moscow and he is now back home at St. Petersburg. The Russian rider was seriously injured following an horrific crash, during the World Supersport race at Imola in June.
The third leg surgery has been performed by Russian specialists and it was a successful one, but Ivanov is still waiting for the outcome that will hopefully allow him to start proper rehabilitation. The last X-ray scan showed some good improvements in his broken bones and a beginning of a calcification process. Despite still unable to tap his foot Ivanov has full sensitivity, meaning he will recover completely from the injury.
"All the time after my crash" said Vladimir Ivanov "I was chased by strong pain which abated a bit after third surgery. Now I am ready to start my rehab, because before my doctor allowed me to undergo only massage sessions. I lost some weight and I'm down to only 66 kg, but thankfully I have my wife and my brother next to me all the time and with their support I feel much better. I got married just 1 month ago and I am very happy with that, I also would like to thank all my fans and friends for their massive support. Without them, everything would have been much more difficult!"
