An ‘exhibition within the exhibition’ will be set up at Bologna’s motorshow.

To celebrate their extremely successful history within the Superbike World Championship, Ducati will set up an ‘exhibition within the exhibition’ at the annual Motorshow event, which will be held in Bologna, Italy, from tomorrow until December 14th. Ducati is currently the most victorious manufacturer in the series with 313 race wins, 17 manufacturers’ titles and 14 Rider Championship wins.

Within the Motor Valley Area (Pavilion 26 of Bologna’s Exhibition Centre) Ducati will display the twin-cylinder machines that have created history within WSBK as well as some of their road counterparts. The path of bikes will start with the first 851 machine continuing with the 1991 851 SP and Doug Polen’s 888, which led to Ducati’s first Manufacturers’ Title. The amazing 916 machine designed by the late, great Massimo Tamburini will also be part of the show along with its 1994 WSBK-spec version, on which Carl Fogarty won his first World Title.

Between the new millennium Ducati machines, the 999R (2005) and Troy Bayliss’ 2007 999 version will also be on display, in addition to the 1198 Factory machine ridden to championship victory by Carlos Checa  and the WSBK-spec 1199 Panigale fielded this year by the Ducati Superbike Team.
