Lowes to start rehab on shoulder in January
Medical check-up for Englishman following testing crash.
Alex Lowes has undergone a medical check following the Turn 3 crash in Jerez testing on Wednesday of last week.
The Pata Yamaha WorldSBK Team rider was left with ‘severely compromised movement’ in his left shoulder and arm following the crash, a highside through what is the first left-handed corner on the Jerez circuit.
Having missed the last two days of the test having traveled home to the UK, Lowes was reviewed by doctors on Wednesday.
“Alex has been for checks and is recuperating before commencing rehab in the New Year,” a team spokesperson confirms to WorldSBK.com.
Next year, Lowes will ride alongside 2014 World Champion Sylvain Guintoli as Yamaha makes its return to WorldSBK with the latest YZF-R1 model.
