Italian consortium increases involvement in World Superbike Championship

Prosecco DOC and Dorna WSBK Organisation are pleased to announce a further partnership with the Italian brand, increasing their commitment to WorldSBK by becoming Event Main Sponsor for the Round held in the Netherlands at the TT Circuit Assen. Therefore the round will be named ‘the Prosecco DOC Dutch Round’.

The Italian consortium’s  products are already a prominent part of WorldSBK and are enjoyed on the podium by riders during their post-race celebrations, as well as being served in the SBK Pit Lounge, Executive Lounges, Motul Hospitality and at rider toasts at the Paddock Show.

The exposure offered by WorldSBK, both as a partner of the Championship and as an Event Main Sponsor, is unrivalled within production based motorcycle racing and gives the Italian brand incredible global brand exposure. In addition, with the new schedule of WorldSBK in 2016, the unique Prosecco moments on the podium now take place on both Saturday and Sunday.

“At the moment, Prosecco is enjoying a particularly fruitful time, confirmed by the trend of positive growth in terms of both popularity and commercial success,” said Stefano Zanette of Consorzio Prosecco DOC. “More and more consumers around the world are enjoying the subtle charm of Prosecco, which proves a perfect accompaniment to any moment of the day, any dish, and any occasion. Due to this incredible versatility, Prosecco has become a happy companion to cultural events in the visual arts sector, such as classical music and jazz, further extending into the world of design, architecture and into the world of motorsport."

"We are delighted that Prosecco DOC are furthering their commitment to WorldSBK,” said Marc Saurina, Commercial and Marketing Director of WorldSBK. “The Prosecco celebrations on the podium are already an intrinsic part of what makes WorldSBK such a unique global Championship, and to have a further commitment from a brand like Prosecco DOC is great news for both parties.”

The Prosecco celebrations on the podium are next set to take place at the Prosecco DOC Dutch Round at Assen in the Netherlands on the 15th of April, with home rider Michael van der Mark looking to repeat his double Dutch podium success of last year.
