Canducci to replace Wagner at GRT Racing for the rest of 2016 Season

The GRT Racing Team confirms that it has reached an agreement with Italian rider Michael Canducci, who will replace injured Australian Aiden Wagner in the final four rounds of the 2016 FIM World Supersport Championship season.

Canducci, who will be riding the MV Agusta of the GRT Racing Team at the Lausitzring, is excited about this opportunity and believes he will be able to do a good job:

Michael Canducci: “I’m really pleased to be able to take part in these final four races of the Supersport World Championship. I will be riding the MV Agusta with the GRT Racing Team, a very professional and competent squad. I know that the team will do all they can to help me do well and I hope to be able to repay them with some good results. The MV Agusta is a new bike for me and so it will definitely be a challenge, but I cannot wait to get on track at the Lausitzring. I thank Filippo Conti, Team Manager, and Mirko Giansanti, Technical Director, for having offered me this opportunity. Special thanks also to my Manager Stefano Scrocchi”.

Sporting Technical Director Mirko Giansanti: “Michael is a rider who has great potential and we are sure that he will demostrate this right from the first race. Unfortunately there isn’t time to carry out any testing and so Michael will ride the bike for the first time during practice in Germany. We will provide him with the experience and professionalism of our technicians and hope to be able to bring home some good results.”

Team Manager Filippo Conti: “We’re pleased to have reached an agreement with Michael, one of the most promising riders on the Italian scene. We have selected him in light of his young age and the results he’s been obtaining in the Italian CIV championship. A new challenge and an exciting one that, I’m sure, will bring us good results right from Lausitzring. We thank Aiden Wagner for his work during the first part of the season and wish him all the best for the future.”
