Aaron Slight’s classic livery reborn in MotoGP
WorldSBK historic colours to be raced in British GP
As the MotoGP paddock descends on the British circuit of Silverstone, British rider Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda) will run Aaron Slight’s livery which he ran in the WorldSBK Championship in the mid-nineties.
New Zealander Slight had a strong WorldSBK career running from 1988 – 2000, with his first full season in 1993, and it is being celebrated around Silverstone this weekend. Narrowly missing out on a world title in 1996 and 1998, Slight was famously locked in battles with Troy Corser, Carl Fogarty and John Kocinski throughout the years.
Crutchlow is thrilled to be running such an iconic livery this weekend: "It’s nice to be back with the bike again, obviously last year we had it in Malaysia and San Marino, this time in Silverstone it’s great as they’re based over here and it’s good to be able to showcase the old retro colours.”
WorldSBK action resumes in just under two weeks time in Portugal for Round 10 of the World Championship, from 15th – 17th September.
