Members of the BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team visited areas affected by the Australian bushfires following the Yamaha Finance Australian Round in March. Riders Tom Sykes and Eugene Laverty, BMW Motorrad Motorsport Director Marc Bongers and Team Principal Shaun Muir were involved in the 1,200km off-road tour from Phillip Island to Canberra.

Leaving the track on the Monday after the race weekend, the three-day tour from Phillip Island to Australia’s capital city was organised by BMW Group Australia with the aim of meeting people affected by the tragic events and the firefighters who helped fight the fires for months on end. BMW Group Australia also donated 600,000 AUD to the Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery appeal.
