In the morning Warm Up session at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya for the inaugural Acerbis Catalunya Round, Toprak Razgatlioglu (PATA YAMAHA WorldSBK Official Team) suffered a huge highside accident at Turn 13 and has been declared unfit for the remainder of the event with a chest injury. The Turkish star will be transported to the Hospital General de Catalunya for further assessments of his condition.

Razgatlioglu was the fastest rider on Friday before taking a second career front row in the Tissot Superpole session on Saturday morning. He is currently tied on points for third place with Chaz Davies (ARUBA.IT Racing – Ducati), both on 111. This latest title blow leaves Razgatlioglu open to attack in the standings further by teammate Michael van der Mark and Independent sensation Michael Ruben Rinaldi (Team GOELEVEN).
