Sykes leaves hospital after Catalunya crash
The 2013 Champion was transferred to hospital following a Race 2 incident at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya
British rider Tom Sykes (BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) has left hospital after being diagnosed with severe concussion following a Race 2 incident during the Hyundai N Catalunya Round during the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship’s second visit to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
Sykes was initially diagnosed with a head injury and concussion following the Turn 1 incident and was transported to Catalunya Hospital for further assessments. Following two days under observation in hospital because of the severe concussion, Sykes has now been released from hospital. His participation in this weekend’s Motul Spanish Round at Jerez is yet to be determined.
