Race 2 for the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship at the Circuito Estoril will not feature Lucas Mahias (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) after he sustained a fracture to his right fifth metacarpal bone following a crash in the Estoril Round Tissot Superpole Race. The crash occurred on the opening lap of the 10-lap race, which forced the Frenchman out. He was assessed at the medical centre and diagnosed with the fracture, putting him out of Race 2.

Mahias had qualified in tenth after Saturday’s Superpole session but dropped down the order in Race 1 to finish in 17^th place. He was 19^th in Sunday’s wet WorldSBK Warm Up session but did not finish the Superpole Race following his Turn 1 crash, which has now put him out for the final race of the Estoril Round.
