Gardner ruled out of Saturday’s action through illness
The Australian rider made a strong start to his first Indonesian Round but will not take part on Saturday due to illness
Remy Gardner (GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team) will not take part in Saturday’s action at the Motul Indonesian Round in the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship at the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit. Gardner has been ruled out of Saturday’s action, meaning he will miss Free Practice 3, the Tissot Superpole session and Race 1, after being diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis.
Gardner had started his maiden visit to Indonesia in WorldSBK inside the top six as he took sixth spot in Free Practice 1, lapping around half-a-second down on pacesetter Michael Ruben Rinaldi (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati). In Free Practice 2, the fastest session on Friday, Gardner was once again in sixth place meaning he finished in the top six in Friday’s classification as he made a strong start in Indonesia.
