Lowes declared unfit after Superpole Race crash
The Brit has a left knee injury after he came off his bike at Turn 5 on Lap 1 and will take no further part in the Portuguese Round
Alex Lowes (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK) will most on Race 2 at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve after he was declared unfit following a Tissot Superpole Race. The Brit crashed at Turn 5 on the opening lap of the race along with teammate Jonathan Rea, but in separate incidents, and won’t race in the afternoon’s race for the Pirelli Portuguese Round.
Lowes had a strong Saturday as he took second in the Tissot Superpole race, behind only Rea, and he finished fifth in Race 1 after a strong weekend. However, Lowes won’t race in Race 2 after his Superpole Race crash after being diagnosed with a left knee injury.
