Friday, 18 October 2024 16:11 GMT

Manufacturers’ and Teams’ Championships in WorldSBK, plus Riders’ titles in WorldSSP, WorldSSP300 and WorldWCR are up for grabs…

While Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) goes in search of his second MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship title, there are plenty of others up for grabs at the Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto. Here, we detail what’s still available and how they can be won during the Prometeon Spanish Round…

WorldSBK: Manufacturers’ and Teams’ Championships

Ducati will clinch the 2024 Manufacturers’ Championship in WorldSBK in Race 1 if they score three points more than BMW. The gap is currently 35 points in Ducati’s favour, and any tiebreak will go BMW’s way, so they need to be 38 points clear after Race 1 to win it. In the Teams’ Championship, the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati outfit will wrap that up in Race 1 if they lose 25 or fewer points to the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team.

WorldSSP: Riders’ Championship

Adrian Huertas (Aruba.it Racing WorldSSP Team) has a 45-point lead over Stefano Manzi (Pata Prometeon Ten Kate Racing) heading into Jerez, and it’s very simple for the #99 in his quest for the title. He needs to score five points over the weekend, or he’ll be Champion if Manzi doesn’t win Race 1.

Huertas will be Champion in Race 1 if:

  • He finishes 11th or better
  • Manzi doesn’t win the race

WorldSSP300: Riders’ Championship and Teams’ Championship

There’s a three-way fight in the WorldSSP300 title battle, with Aldi Mahendra (Team BrCorse) leading Loris Veneman (MTM Kawasaki) and Inigo Iglesias (Fusport-RT Motorsports by SKM-Kawasaki), while the Teams’ Championship is up for grabs. In the latter, MTM will win it if they score 11 more points than Team BrCorse and 10 more points than Fusport-RT Motorsports by SKM-Kawasaki. The Riders’ Championship will be decided if Mahendra outscores Veneman by 10 points and loses at most six points to Iglesias.

Mahendra will be Champion in Race 1 if:

  • Wins and Veneman finishes 4th or worse
  • Finishes 2nd and Veneman finishes 6th or worse
  • Finishes 3rd, Veneman finishes 10th or worse, and Iglesias doesn't win the race
  • Finishes 4th, Veneman finishes 13th or worse, and Iglesias finishes 3rd or worse
  • Finishes 5th, Veneman finishes 15th or worse, and Iglesias finishes 3rd or worse
  • Finishes 6th, Veneman finishes 16th or worse, and Iglesias finishes 3rd or worse

WorldWCR: Riders’ Championship

It looks like Ana Carrasco (Evan Bros Racing Yamaha Team) vs Maria Herrera (Klint Forward Factory Team), although Sara Sanchez (511 Terra&Vita Racing Team) is in mathematical contention too. Carrasco is the only one who can win on Saturday, and she’ll be Champion if she scores eight more points than Herrera and loses 17 or fewer to Sanchez.

Carrasco will be Champion in Race 1 if:

  • Carrasco wins and Herrera finishes 3rd or worse
  • Carrasco finishes 2nd and Herrera finishes 5th or worse
  • Carrasco finishes 3rd and Herrera finishes 8th or worse
  • Carrasco finishes 4th and Herrera finishes 11th or worse
  • Carrasco finishes 5th and Herrera finishes 13th or worse
  • Carrasco finishes 6th and Herrera finishes 14th or worse
  • Carrasco finishes 7th and Herrera finishes 15th or worse
  • Carrasco finishes 8th and Herrera finishes 16th or worse
