FROM DISBELIEF TO THE UNBELIEVABLE
‘Crazy’, ‘stupid’, ‘dangerous’… Rarely has a decision elicited such an animated reaction in WorldSBK. Conversely, rarely has a decision proven to be so successful. Toprak Razgatlioglu’s move to the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team ahead of the 2024 season was certainly a contentious one when announced in Spring 2023, but the #1 numberplate with which he heads into this 2025 season is all he and manager-mentor Kenan Sofuoglu need to prove it was the right one.
‘The Greatest Stunt’ tells the story of the 17 months which turned WorldSBK on its head. From how Marc Bongers (BMW Motorrad Motorsport Sporting Director) got the deal over the line – including an incognito trip to Sakarya, Turkey – to the grand finale at the Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto, and everything that went on in between: the first win, the record-breaking streak, the career-threatening injury… The full rollercoaster.
HISTORY-MAKING AS SEEN FROM THE INSIDE
Razgatlioglu’s antics on and off-track are also supported by in-depth interviews with a number of voices across the documentary’s 47-minute-plus runtime. Team personnel, Championship rivals, legends of the sport… Over a dozen of them share their side of the tale, including of course the 2024 World Champion himself.
Behind-the-scenes footage, much of it unreleased until now, also features prominently across ‘The Greatest Stunt’. From the many interactions with ‘Abi’ Michael van der Mark (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team), going back as far as the January team launch, to the stressful weeks that followed Razgatlioglu’s frightening Magny-Cours crash, the off-track happenings take centre-stage in this documentary.
