Two days after the 2024 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship concluded, 2025 begins. The Circuito de Jerez - Angel Neto hosts the first off-season test for the field as Bimota returns to the Championship and other riders get their first taste of next season’s packages. 17:30 - the chequered flag falls on Day 1. Bulega led the way ahead of Bautista, while Gerloff slotted into P3 late on in the day. Full report coming soon...

17:00 - Garrett Gerloff has just gone third on the Kawasaki! The #31 posted a 1'39.808s to move into P3, demoting Vierge into fourth

16:15 - Bautista, despite his crash, has been one of the busiest riders on track. He's racked up 71 laps so far, still sitting in second place. He's on track with Bridewell, Booth-Amos and Oettl

15:45 - still fairly quiet on track. Bautista and Vierge continue to lap Jerez, along with Reiterberger and Marino

15:07 - Bulega and Bautista have just exited pitlane, as has Tommy Bridewell on his Honda

14:58 - Oli Bayliss has taken to the track on the PTR Triumph. He's testing with the team at Jerez alongside Tom Booth-Amos

14:40 - it's been a quiet start to afternoon running. Marino is still out on the KB998, and he's joined on track by Vierge and Gerlofff, who's put in 39 laps so far as he adapts to the ZX-10RR

14:20 - riders are just making their way back on track, with Reiterberger for BMW and Marino for Bimota lapping Jerez right now

13:20 - with most riders in the box, we're also going to take a short break from coverage. We'll be back in a bit to bring you more from Jerez!

13:10 - lots of people in the box around now, with just Guintoli and Reiterberger on track as it stands. Bulega still leads with his 1'38.142s, with Bautista in second despite his crash. Vierge is third

12:20 - BMW's test will be finished by around 14:00 (Local Time, UTC+2). Their plan was to put mileage on the 2025 engine with test riders Sylvain Guintoli and Marcus Reiterberger, with that test plan completed ahead of Aragon next year - Toprak Razgatlioglu and Michael van der Mark will test there on the M 1000 RR

12:03 - Bautista is back on track following his earlier Turn 2 crash. His best time so far is a 1'39.567s

11:53 - Bulega has gone even faster with a 1'38.142s

11:30 - two hours into the test, and it's Bulega who leads Bautista. The #11 set a 1'38.503s to claim P1 in the early running, with Bautista a second back. Vierge is third, with Gerloff fourth on the ZX-10RR and Mackenzie fifth

11:17 - around half an hour under red flag conditions, but the green flags are waving again

10:56 - we have a red flag on track, as Bautista's crashed at Turn 2

10:25 - Garrett Gerloff has just headed out for his first run on the Kawasaki ZX-10RR

10:15 - Bulega's gone a bit quicker as he's set a 1'38.503s - around a second off his Tissot Superpole time from the weekend. BMW's test team - Marcus Reiterberger and Sylvain Guintoli - have joined the action too, as has Philipp Oettl on the Panigale V2 following his move to Feel Racing for 2025

09:52 - it's very early days in the test of course, but after 20 minutes or so, Nicolo Bulege leads the way ahead of teammate Alvaro Bautista. So far, the two Ducatis have been joined by Xavi Vierge, Tarran Mackenzie, Tetsuta Nagashima and Tommy Bridewell from Honda, plus Florian Marino on the Bimota, Ryan Vickers on the Motocorsa Ducati and, in WorldSSP, Triumph's Tom Booth-Amos

09:30 - the green flags are out as testing gets underway at Jerez
