Two days after the 2024 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship concluded, 2025 begins. The Circuito de Jerez - Angel Neto hosts the first off-season test for the field as Bimota returns to the Championship and other riders get their first taste of next season’s packages. 12:20 - BMW's test is done after a few hours. Their plan was to put mileage on the 2025 engine with test riders Sylvain Guintoli and Marcus Reiterberger, with that test plan completed ahead of Aragon next year - Toprak Razgatlioglu and Michael van der Mark will test there on the M 1000 RR.
12:03 - Bautista is back on track following his earlier Turn 2 crash. His best time so far is a 1'39.567s
11:53 - Bulega has gone even faster with a 1'38.142s
11:30 - two hours into the test, and it's Bulega who leads Bautista. The #11 set a 1'38.503s to claim P1 in the early running, with Bautista a second back. Vierge is third, with Gerloff fourth on the ZX-10RR and Mackenzie fifth
11:17 - around half an hour under red flag conditions, but the green flags are waving again

10:15 - Bulega's gone a bit quicker as he's set a 1'38.503s - around a second off his Tissot Superpole time from the weekend. BMW's test team - Marcus Reiterberger and Sylvain Guintoli - have joined the action too, as has Philipp Oettl on the Panigale V2 following his move to Feel Racing for 2025
09:52 - it's very early days in the test of course, but after 20 minutes or so, Nicolo Bulege leads the way ahead of teammate Alvaro Bautista. So far, the two Ducatis have been joined by Xavi Vierge, Tarran Mackenzie, Tetsuta Nagashima and Tommy Bridewell from Honda, plus Florian Marino on the Bimota, Ryan Vickers on the Motocorsa Ducati and, in WorldSSP, Triumph's Tom Booth-Amos
