STATS ROUND-UP: Razgatlioglu surpasses Fogarty for all-time wins after Portimao hat-trick
The reigning Champion moved ahead of Carl Fogarty after taking his 60th win while Bulega matched the four-time Champion’s longest podium streak
Records were broken at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve as the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship hit the rollercoaster for Round 2 of the 2025 season. The Pirelli Portuguese Round had three epic fights for the win as Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) moved into third place in the all-time win list with 60, moving ahead of Carl Fogarty, while Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati) matched ‘Foggy’ with 14 consecutive rostrums. Check out more stats from Portugal below.
326 – Alex Lowes (bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team) started his 326th race in WorldSBK in Race 2. He’s now got the fourth-most starts in WorldSBK, moving ahead of Leon Haslam.
150 – Andrea Locatelli (Pata Maxus Yamaha) and Axel Bassani (bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team) both started their 150th race in the Tissot Superpole Race.
111 – Bulega has already broken the 100-point mark, standing on 111, after six races. In his rookie season, it took him eight races to get to 101 points – no rider last year was on 100 points after two rounds.
60/59 – Razgatliolgu’s Race 2 win gave him his 60th WorldSBK victory, moving him one ahead of four-time Champion Carl Fogarty (59) in third place in the all-time winners list. Next up for ‘El Turco’ is Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati) on 63.
35 – BMW now have 35 wins in WorldSBK, with eight coming at Portimao; their most successful circuit – twice as many as their next-best circuit, Donington Park.
34 – Locatelli scored 34 points at Portimao, his best since he took 36 at Mandalika in 2023. His best in 2024 was 27, at the season-ending Spanish Round.
30/18/15 – Bulega claimed his 30th podium at Portimao. 18 of them have been second place, and in 15 he’s finished in P2 behind Razgatlioglu.
21/35 – Razgatlioglu has won 21 out of his 36 races for BMW, or 58.33%. It’s the best winning percentage for a rider with one manufacturer (more than 10 races completed).
14 – Bulega is on a run of 14 consecutive podiums, the 11th longest and matches Fogarty’s longest. The best podium streak belongs to Colin Edwards with 25, followed by Jonathan Rea (Pata Maxus Yamaha) in second and third with 24 and 21. A podium in Race 1 at Assen would mean Bulega surpasses ‘Foggy’ and put him level with two of Bautista’s runs and one from Rea on 15.
12 – The last 12 WorldSBK races have been won by either Razgatlioglu or Bulega, 3-3 in 2025 and 6-6 across the last 12.
12 – The last 12 races at Portimao have only had two winners: Razgatlioglu (8) and Bautista (4).
9 – After his second consecutive Portimao hat-trick, he now has nine wins at the venue. This puts him level with Donington Park for circuits he’s won the most at.
9 – Despite not winning, Bulega led all three races. He’s now led in the last nine races, putting him level with Rea, Troy Bayliss, Neil Hodgson, and Troy Corser. The longest run of races led belongs to Razgatlioglu at 18 (Assen 2022, Race 1 to Magny Cours 2022, Race 2).
3-3 – For the first time since 2022, there’s a 3-3 split between two riders after six races. Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati) claimed a hat-trick at Phillip Island, while Razgatlioglu did the same at Portimao.
2 – Two different riders claimed hat-tricks in the first two rounds of the season, for the first time in the Tissot Superpole Race era
0.317s – The combined gap between Bulega and Razgatlioglu across all three races was 0.317s (0.067s in Race 1, 0.055s in the Superpole Race, 0.195s in Race 2). This is the second-closest margin in WorldSBK history, behind Phillip Island 2020 (0.111s).
