Apiwath Wongthanaon is one of two Thai riders to compete in WorldSSP in 2023 and will make his debut in the Championship for the new Yamaha Thailand Racing Team. He competed in two Moto2™ races in 2018 and narrowly missed out on points but, when racing in Asia Superbike 1000 last season, took one win and four podiums on his way to fourth in the championship.
