Swiss rider Dominique Aegerter is entering his second season in WorldSBK having impressed during 2023. The #77 was on the front row in his debut round in Australia, before taking two more throughout the season. This was backed up with two podiums, both at the season-ending Spanish Round at Jerez, as he ended his maiden season in style.
Two WorldSSP titles in his two seasons in the Championship, as well as breaking several records, earnt the Swiss rider a graduation to WorldSBK for 2023 with the GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team. Aegerter took 27 wins and 35 podiums in WorldSSP prior to making the step up and sits second behind only five-time Champion Kenan Sofuoglu in terms of race wins in the Championship. 2022 was a unique season for Aegerter as he also claimed the MotoE™ World Cup title; taking two world-level titles in one calendar year.
Prior to making the switch to WorldSSP, Aegerter was somewhat of a Moto2™ stalwart. He spent more than a decade competing in the Championship, either full-time or making one-off appearances, while he also has experience of 125cc World Championship to his name. In 2020, he joined the MotoE™ World Cup and took a bronze medal, before going one step better in 2021 with second and another step better in 2022 by winning the World Cup.
