Niccolo Antonelli was one of the high-profile rookies coming into WorldSSP in 2024 as he linked up with Ecosantagata Althea Racing. He made his Moto3™ debut in 2012 and in his 10 years there, he claimed eight wins and 12 podiums, before graduating to Moto2™ in 2022. A difficult year meant he returned to European competition with Moto2™ EC. In 2024, Antonelli competed with Ecosantagata with their Yamaha R6, and while he finished 17^th, he distinguished himself with 9^th place finishes in Catalunya, Misano, and Jerez. His best finish in WorldSSP so far also came in the 2024 season, a fourth-place finish at TT Circuit Assen. 2025 will see him continue with VFT Racing as their sole rider atop their new Yamaha R9.
