About

British rider Tarran Mackenzie made his WorldSBK debut in 2022, the year after he took the British Superbike title, before a season in WorldSSP with MIE Honda. A wet-weather maestro, Mackenzie is heading into his second year onboard the CBR1000RR-R machine as he aims to score more points and more top-ten finishes in 2025

Honda (2024-)

Mackenzie’s first full-time campaign came in 2024 with the MIE Honda team and he took a best result of 11th at Assen in Race 2. The Brit often showed wet-weather prowess on his bike, but Mackenzie was unable to break into the top ten. He’ll be hoping that with a year of experience under his belt, he’ll be able to take his bike into being a consistent contender for the high-scoring points.

Yamaha (2022)

After claiming the British Superbike title in 2021, Mackenzie made his WorldSBK debut as a wildcard on the Yamaha R1, with his BSB team, at Donington Park where he scored two points finishes; taking 14th place in Race 1 and 15th in Race 2.

WorldSSP

Despite his success on a big bike, Mackenzie moved into WorldSSP for the 2023 with the MIE Honda team as the Japanese manufacturer made their return to the Championship. It was a tricky year but he mastered the rain at the Autodrom Most was the undoubted highlight, followed by a fifth-place in the season-opener in Australia; also a rain-affected race.

Before WorldSSP

Mackenzie made his British Superbike debut in 2018 and was a podium contender from midway through his rookie season, before taking his first win a year later. Two fifth-place finishes in 2019 and 2020 followed before he won the 2021 title. A serious injury in 2022 disrupted his title defence but he was still able to take seventh in the standings. Mackenzie also won the British Supersport title and raced in the Red Bull MotoGP™ Rookies Cup in 2012.
