About

Malaysian rider Zaqhwan Zaidi joins the MIE Honda outfit for 2025 as one of four WorldSBK rookies, linking up with Tarran Mackenzie in the Independent Honda squad. A champion in the Asian Superbike series, Zaidi will be hoping his success on Honda machinery there will translate onto the world stage on the CBR1000RR-R.

Honda (2025-)

Zaidi heads into the 2025 season on the backfoot after not being able to test at Jerez or Portimao due to logistical issues, but the #21 will hope that doesn’t impact him too much throughout the season after heading into it on the back of a successful run in Asia.

Before WorldSBK

Zaidi raced in the Asian Superbike championship from 2022 to 2024, winning the title in his first year on Honda machinery despite winning just one race. A consistent podium finisher in 2023, Zaidi slipped to third in the standings before finishing sixth last year. With his impressive performances, Zaidi secured a WorldSBK ride for 2025.
