About

2021 Moto2™ World Champion Remy Gardner spent one season in MotoGP™ before moving to WorldSBK, securing a podium finish at Assen in 2024 for his first rostrum in World Superbike. The Australian has shown speed and potential in abundance since his move to GRT Yamaha alongside Dominique Aegerter, who he has raced alongside since the 2023 season.

Yamaha (2023-)

Gardner’s move to WorldSBK from MotoGP™ wasn’t without its difficulties but he was soon up to speed on the Yamaha R1, taking his first top-ten finish in Race 2 at Phillip Island, and his first single-digit finish in Race 2 at Mandalika despite battling illness during the weekend. He ended the year with a series of top-ten finishes as he knocked on the door of a first rostrum, but he had to wait until Assen Race 2 in 2024 to secure it when he finished in third place. While the second half of 2024 was tricky for Yamaha, Gardner was often their reference rider and fighting to finish as the lead rider for the Japanese brand.

Before WorldSBK

Gardner’s first World Championship action came in 2014 in Moto3™ as a replacement rider, before securing a full-time seat in 2015. In 2016, he moved into Moto2™ - again as a replacement rider – before securing a full-time ride in 2017 with Tech3 Racing. Although podiums eluded him, he became a regular fixture in the top ten, but his rostrum wait came to an end in 2019 in Argentina when he claimed P2 racing for the SAG Team. In 2021, he signed for Red Bull KTM Ajo and this was the year he claimed the title after a fierce fight with teammate Raul Fernandez with just four points separating them at the end of the year. He moved to MotoGP™ for 2022 but was unable to retain his season; instead, heading to WorldSBK for 2023.
