About

Alvaro Bautista reverts back to his #19 plate for 2025 after relinquishing his title to Toprak Razgatlioglu, and he remains with the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team for a third season in his second spell. Despite a tricky 2024, the Spaniard was able to claim four wins and 18 podiums as he finished third in the standings, but he’ll be hoping for more in 2025 as he looks to beat both teammate Nicolo Bulega and reigning Champion Razgatlioglu.

Ducati (2022-)

Bautista returned to the Bologna-based manufacturer for the 2022 campaign after two seasons with Honda and immediately showed his best again. 16 wins and 31 podiums in 36 races meant he was crowned WorldSBK Champion for the first time after fending off Razgatlioglu and Jonathan Rea in an epic battle. The Bautista-Ducati combination proved to be a formidable force in 2024 as he defended his title in style, claiming a record-breaking 27 wins on his way to his second WorldSBK crown.

Honda (2020-2021)

After just one season with Ducati, the Spaniard made the switch to Team HRC as Honda returned to the Championship as a full factory team. Partnered with Leon Haslam, his two seasons with the Japanese brand were tricky with just three podiums in 61 races and several crashes as he pushed hard to achieve the maximum results.

Ducati (2019)

Bautista burst onto the WorldSBK scene in 2019 as he won his first 11 races in the Championship and battled Rea for the title. It wasn’t to be for Bautista in his rookie season as a series of crashes and an epic comeback from Rea gave the #65 his fifth title.

Before WorldSBK

Bautista was a World Champion before his WorldSBK days, after he claimed the 125cc World Championship title in 2006. He was a race winner in the 250cc World Championship between 2007 and 2009, before moving into MotoGP™. Three podiums and one pole came for Bautista in MotoGP™ before his move to WorldSBK.
